Thank you for 4 grand years!

In August of 2019, a single question sparked a journey that would forever change my life: could we bring people closer, declutter our lives, and spread more joy through a single shared gift?

Fast forward to 2023, and I could have never imagined the impact that this question would have on my journey as a startup founder and on the lives of so many of our users. From our first group gift for a 7-year-old’s birthday in Texas until today, it’s amazing to see how Presently has blossomed to be part of countless heartwarming stories from all over the world: from companies as big as Amazon and Google to families, friends, teachers, and more.

Today, with overflowing gratitude, we share some bittersweet news: Presently has decided to shut its doors in pursuit of a new chapter.

🙏 To our amazing community: you’ve made this experience unforgettable. Thank you for trusting us to be a part of your most cherished moments — from the happiest of your celebrations and milestones to your most challenging moments. We hope that in our small way, we’ve helped your communities come closer together by making gifting more meaningful and sustainable. Thank you for making this experience so meaningful for us all – on a personal note, you are all part of the reason I loved my work every day over the past four years. Your trust, stories, and unwavering support have made every up and down of the entrepreneurial journey worth it.

So one last time: thank you SO much to each of you – our incredible users – for making Presently an adventure we’ll never forget. This isn’t a goodbye, but a heartfelt “see you later” as I know our paths will cross again!

With immense gratitude,

Dalia Katan
CEO & Founder of Presently

But wait! There are still some loose ribbons to tie up. We have an extensive FAQ below to answer your questions.

FAQ

Yes, Presently is shutting down. This will happen in several milestones. Here’s a quick timeline so that you are aware of what’s to come:
1) September 30, 2023 – Last day for organizers create group gifts or cards
2) November 30, 2023 – Last day for contributors to contribute a group gift or card
3) December 15, 2023 (11:59pm EST) – Last day for recipients to redeem a group gift. After this date, group gifts funds will expire.

Our gift ideas and blog will remain up for at least a year.

This decision was incredibly challenging to make, but we wanted to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude for being a part of the Presently family and for supporting our mission. We don’t know yet what the future holds for Presently, but we are so grateful to every one of our users for making it possible for us to accomplish all that we have done these past four years.

Any existing gifts and/or cards will continue to be hosted and fulfilled without interruption, and our concierge team will continue to provide assistance to any needs that arise. You can log in here to manage your gift or card.

The last day to redeem the gift will be December 15, 2023 (11:59pm EST). We will send extra reminders and communicate the deadline to the recipients.

If you are an organizer, we would like your help in ensuring the recipients know the deadline to redeem their gift so they can receive it in time. We will be emailing you for help on any unredeemed gifts. For retirement gifts, we highly recommend using the recipient’s personal email address in case the company disables their work email. The same applies to coworkers going on extended leave.

If you are a recipient who has not yet redeemed their gift, you will have until December 15, 2023 (11:59pm EST) to do so. We will send reminders to recipients as well as organizers, who will have the option to redeem or cancel the gift if the recipient has not replied.

Please review the email(s) sent from Presently, as they contain a link to view your card and instructions on redeeming your gift using the provided redemption code. If you don’t find the email in your inbox or spam folder, or are missing a redemption code, please email us at [email protected] from the same email we are currently emailing you from, and we will be able to assist.

If your gift is not redeemed by the expiry date (December 15, 2023, 11:59pm EST), your funds will expire and will no longer be available to redeem or refund. If you have any issues or questions, email us at [email protected].

After you’ve submitted your redemption request, it usually takes 24 to 48 hours to process and undergo security review. If it’s been longer than that, please check your inbox, including your spam folder, to see if you received an email from our support team to ensure that any missing information is provided.

If you still haven’t received your gift nor any emails from our team, please email us at [email protected] using the same email where you received your redemption code to verify your identity.

If your gift hasn’t yet been delivered, worry not: it will deliver as planned on the date and time you selected. You will receive an email letting you know when the gift and/or card has been sent.

For redemptions, you will receive an email from our team informing you when the recipient has redeemed their gift. If they have yet to redeem their gift after delivery, we will send at least three email reminders to recipients before the redemption deadline.

If the recipient does not redeem the gift after three reminders, we will also send you two email reminders so you can give the recipient a nudge or decide if you want to redeem the funds to purchase the gift for them in person. We may also use the phone number on file to attempt to contact you.

If you wish to change the gift, such as the payout details or delivery date, please log in to your organizer dashboard and select the appropriate option under the ‘Make changes’ section of your dashboard.

While we assure you that there will be no changes to the quality of service or our concierge support, we also understand if you’d like to cancel your gift. If you decide to cancel your gift for any reason, please email us at [email protected] and we’ll guide you through the next steps to refund contributors. Otherwise, if you choose not to cancel your gift, all the benefits we promised at sign-up will be provided until your gift is redeemed or expired on December 15, 2023.

We don’t know yet what the future holds for Presently, but we are so grateful to every one of our users for making it possible for us to accomplish all that we have done these past four years.
